I Pronounce You Man and Wife…You may now update your Facebook Status

This video was passed along to me by a friend and I had to share it.  During a wedding ceremony after being officially wed, a bride and groom update their Facebook status before kissing.   I would say that’s a little overboard…but funny none the less.

Now there has been a number of twitter marriage proposals and who can forget the famous chapel entrance with the Wedding party breaking it down, but this facebook status update in the midst of the ceremony itself is the first.  Thoughts?

That is funny! Don’t know if it was the time or place for it, but nevertheless it makes an interesting viral video!

That’s crazy. I thought it was staged until they zoomed out and showed all the people in the church.

I think it’s a pretty lame time for a joke. Then again, I’m sure these two will have a pretty lame marriage as they sit on facebook and twitter together all day. Way to ruin a special day douche.

@Laptop Briefcases…for a day that is so important that you’re supposed to remember for the rest of your life I agree it was pretty lame. Def killed the moment, but then again many people especially millenials (Gen y) do things differently. This is just a classic example.

Go to your profile privacy settings, edit settings for status and links. If you only want a small number to see it then use the some friends option and put in the names of the people. If you want to block a small number then use the except these option

Well, managing friends and social networks isn’t exactly convenient these days because there are so many online services and communities to help you stay in touch with and keep track of other people — Facebook, Twitter, Ning, Plaxo, FriendFeed, Loopt, Brightkite, GChat…the list just goes on and on. One thing you can do to make it all a little easier is to sync your Facebook and Twitter accounts so that the status messages you enter on one site show up at the other too. Here’s how to do it:

Well, as you can see below, it worked! If you’re an avid user of Twitter and Facebook and you’re finding it difficult to manage status updates, you might want to think about merging the two utilities…

I think you test out the Facebook to Twitter functionality by typing a message and clicking on “Update,” click on “Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status”.

There is an RSS feed for your status updates. This means that you can easily grab a simple php RSS script to show the last status update you made on your blog.

I don’t think it will last the whole 8 weeks. Mine lasted for a month once. They eventually erase themselves, especially if you aren’t on Facebook at all during that time. I don’t know what will happen if you go on Facebook but don’t update your status.

I guess this lame move at least makes their wedding more memorable. Instead of just being another typical wedding between two ugly people, it is now a wedding between two ugly people who are obsessed with social media.

I wonder if they will perform the same ritual when they get divorced a year or two later. I have a feeling this jackass wouldn’t have the same grin once he realizes that he’s gotta give her half his money.

However, it is possible that other programs and websites that read facebook feeds (like TweetDeck) could have saved your status update in their own cache, so a record of your update could still exist. The good news is that only the people who probably already saw your update when you first posted it are likely to still be able to see it later.

This is a perfect reflection about how some people care more about what people think about them online instead of in real life. With facebook so many people are fighting to show off to their friends with their status updates and new photos. It becomes a bit of a contest about who is leading the more interesting life. As a result, some of those people are neglecting their real life priorities.
