social-media-revolution

Think Social Media is a fad?  Think again.  I found this video had some very interesting stats.  It reminded me of the “Did you know” video I shared last year, but more geared towards social media.  Well worth watching….

It’s clear that social media can be used for many different purposes….customer service, building relationships with potential and current clients, building credibility in a niche, allowing people to share their experiences with your brand with others, staying in contact with friends, sharing valuable content and much more.

What is the primary way you use social media?

What did you think about the video….was there anything that surprised you?

@Ryan absolutely…people often don’t stop and think about how powerful tools like twitter and facebook can be. Everyone has their social circle and these platforms enable people to easily share valuable information and news so effortlessly. The viral nature of these tools enable information to spread so much faster than ever.

@jaime I absolutely agree….when you share something or make a comment on facebook or twitter you often don’t realize how widely spread that comment or information can be seen. This video was definitely a great illustration of the viral effect of social media….glad you liked it! thanks for commenting

The primary way i use the social websites is indeed mainly for social interaction. But I mainly just use facebook though… Since I am a college student, I have alot of my friends from school on there, as well as high school, and even old friends from elementary school that I’ve gotten in contact with again thanks to facebook.

As far as the video, definitely social media is here to stay! =D I guess I was surprised that in the end it was a plug for a book ;-)

    Till then,

    Jean

Revolution (in any form) sounds good, but the question is what would you replace the current systems with? You need a plan for replacement before you can start getting fighters and civilian support.

Anyone following the story on Twitter? According to many sources on the net, Twitter and YouTube have the goods on minute by minute action as it unfolds in Tehran. In fact, these seem to be the only sources of information the Iranian government hasn’t been able to completely control.

I heard that any Iranians using Twitter were to be imprisoned, and that some people opposing the election decision had been rounded up and have disappeared. The internet sure is a power thats hard to stop, thanks to it…

@Jean Facebook is great to stay connected to friends…As a college student networking is very important if you’re trying to land a good job or even build relationships with potential vendors or partners in your own business.

I would continue “hanging out on facebook”, but also recommend getting involved more in twitter and linkedin as the professional crowd is there. thx for stopping by

    @contextual links…

Facebook on alexa is number 2 in the US only behind google…..Twitter is right behind google.in and I predict it will pass it within the next month or so.

What’s crazy to think about is that Facebook just passed 350 million users….If it were a country it would be the third largest in the world…Even ahead of the US

@loss of weight….to show your knowledge of social media in a job interview I would first make sure you are very knowledgeable in social media. Have profiles set up on the major social networks with activity.

I would also recommend having a blog and building your personal brand: http://davidbrim.org/the-power-of-building-your-personal-brand-online/

As far as showing companies you can be valuable as an asset in digital marketing and social media check this post out.

Great question! Social Media falls into a larger umbrella called “Inbound Marketing.” Traditionally marketing would be 1) cold calls/ telemarketing 2) print marketing such as magazines or newspapers 3) radio advertising 4) TV advertising 5) outdoor advertising. The before mentioned techniques would be labeled as “Outbound Marketing.”

Fox reports every bad thing the can prove about Obama, and even some things they can’t, but even fox viewers would not support a revolution. You should consider the idea that the reason your web sites are obscure is because they are not telling the truth, and not very many people waste their time reading lies.

You see all the wars going on between nations. Listen in on any family with children. You will hear autonomy wars. “It’s time to go wash up for bed.” “No, I don’t wanna.” “Did you hear me?” “No!” See? An autonomy war. Another need, “creativity.”

Awareness was also a point well made. Besides that, by social change I didn’t necessarily mean positive change. Whos to say whats positive

Recommend not solely revolving your campaign around these channels however. With a social media campaign, we’d target specific communities that cater to your specific demographic.
